SEE HOOPERS ISLAND FROM THE WESTERN SHORE!

Who says you have to DRIVE 3-4 hours to get to Hoopers Island from the Western Shore? That's a bunch of nonsense! Hop on our charter boat at Solomons Island and take an hour-long ride across the Chesapeake Bay!

On the way over, stop at a pound net, and learn about how most of the fish you see at the market in Baltimore and Washington, DC are caught. You'll learn how a pound net works and other insights about how commercial fishermen make a living on Hoopers Island. You may even see commercial crabbers fishing crab pots and running trotlines!

Upon arrival on Hoopers Island, you'll get to check out A.E. Phillips and Son, where the legendary Phillips Seafood empire got started! Learn about the history of this great company, and take a tour of the factory and watch the workers as they pick steamed crabs and package the meat for sale all over the world!

Then, visit Old Salty's restaurant, which is located in the original schoolhouse on Hoopers Island! Enjoy a family-style meal that features numerous Maryland seafood items, such as fried soft-shell crabs, fried fish, clam strips, lemon pepper chicken, and so much more!
